Happy Halloween!
Fischer and Amelia have been busy with Halloween activities. Yesterday they went to the Halloween party at the library. Today they went trick or treating at the hospital. Fischer had his face painted there and did the cake walk. Tonight will be some more fun and treats at the middle school, followed by a Halloween party at the ice rink. Amelia has been going as a chicken and Fischer as an alligator. Very cute!

Little hands
Little hands were at work here. Lining the old thread up all in a row. Jimmy found a bunch of old thread on wooden spools at a yard sale. The colors are beautiful and I enjoyed the randomness of the colors all lined up. Now that they are all lined up, counted and favorite colors chosen, I'm not sure what we will do with them next.

All Bundled Up
The kids aren't wearing their snow pants yet, but it is getting close. Mornings have been pretty chilly here, down to 14 degrees a few times. It is becoming more of a production to get the kids ready for our runs, with all the layers that I have to put them in. They don't seem to mind though.
Amelia's first birthday is coming up soon. I started making a little book for her. It is a mixture of collage and painting. I'm using old book covers for each page. This is what I have so far, the cover and her first Christmas. I plan on doing a page for each month.

All stacked up
We are close to having all our wood for the winter. Perhaps one more load to be on the safe side. We have had to have a fire for at least the last week and a half. The cooler weather has brought more playing inside the house.
Fischer found the building blocks which I had hid for good reason. Usually he just dumps them on the floor and kicks them all over. He actually built a few things with them this time. He has been enjoying the battery powered truck that we got from a friend. Initially he ran into the garage door and a tree, but now has it under control. He tries to chase Cosmo around.

Friends
It is the season now for a nice toasty fire. It has really cooled off here. It has been blustery and cold. Friday night they had predicted 3-6 inches of snow, but fortunately it missed us. With the cold weather comes hockey, hunting and being indoors more. I busted out my knitting needles and started a few new projects this week, a hat and a Christmas stocking for Amelia. Boyd, Tayo and Sawyer came up for the weekend. Jimmy and him went hunting a few times, but no luck. Jimmy sprained his ankle this past week so they couldn't hike. They had to mostly hunt from the road.
I've been able to get a little sewing in. I made a diaper bag for a friend and a few other bags which I'm not sure what I will do with them, but it was fun making them.
Recently we went to a friends house for dinner. They have a miniature horse with a cart. I kind of felt bad for the little horse pulling everyone, but she didn't seem to mind.
One of our friends plays the fiddle and was staying with us for a bit. Fischer and Amelia enjoyed dancing to the music. Amelia loves any kind of music. She will start bouncing or dancing when she even hears a commercial.

Red Riding Hood Jacket GIVEAWAY !!!!!!!
Isn't this the cutest little red cape? Somehow I found a blog where there is this amazing mom that makes little girls clothes and gives them away. Very adorable! This past week Fischer picked out Little Red Riding Hood from the library and we've been reading it. While looking at the pictures I was thinking how cute it would be to make something like that for Amelia. You can check out her blog at grosgrainfabulous.blogspot.com and see some of the other cute things she has made.
